As a socially awkward person with ASD, I've been trying to put myself out there and be sociable. Today I went to an event and at first it was awkward but then more people joined along and people started forming their own little groups and socializing. I spoke with another girl and we got along pretty well, had nice conversations and were laughing, but then a new person joined along and they started talking and laughing really hard and it was like I no longer existed. Everyone else at my table was joking and talking while I kind of sat there awkwardly while interjecting to the conversation once in a while.

Should I just stick to more 1-on-1 meet ups until I get better at socializing?
