We occasionally host neighborhood gatherings in our garden after dinner and serve fruit, cheese, and wine. In the past, guests have brought tons of cake and cookies which no one eats and it goes to waste. I want to include in the invite a note asking people not to bring dessert, but my husband says it’s rude and just allow it to unfold naturally. I can’t stand the waste.
