I started working at an after school program a couple weeks ago. After all the kids get picked up, my coworkers sit at the same table and chat while they’re grading assignments. I don’t know how to join the conversation, so I usually clean stuff by myself or I stay at my desk and grade HW alone. It’s not a social anxiety thing; I have autism and I genuinely don’t know how to start talking to people (unless I’m asking a specific question about the job). Does anyone have advice about how I can start conversations?
