Me (32yo) and wife (33yo) were at one of my hometown bars over the weekend having a few drinks with some friends I haven’t seen in awhile. She had quite a few drinks and asked for a water. One of my friends had grabbed her one since he was already ordering some drinks. Instead of just saying thank you, she said she was so happy she could kiss him, apparently as a joke. I had pulled her to the side and said you’re my wife and can’t say things like that. She had seemed to think I was overreacting. I asked her about it the following day and she didn’t mean as an actual kiss, just a kiss on the cheek. Which I thought was weird again because I thought she was fully joking. So I mentioned why not just say you’re fully joking instead of mentioning a kiss on the cheek. She said she would never actually do that anyways. I told her I thought she could’ve because of how many drinks she had and the fact she said it in the first place. We had also been fighting earlier in the day which made more likely to think that too. Now she’s extremely pissed I would think she would do something like that at all. She does have a flawless track record of being completely loyal but I hate that she said that and now my friend has that in his brain.
Am I within my right to be upset at all?
