i’m on a pretty full train, the operator doesn’t know where i go on (she hasn’t walked through) – i realised 5 mins into the journey my face ID hadn’t gone through and just bought the ticket on trainline from the next station (because it flags tickets if you buy them after departure, it’s only like an extra £1/2 so not to save money) – somehow though, it beeped and she asked for my other ticket (aka assuming i had a splitsave and another ticket that covered one stop between my departure and the station she checked at).
extra context: i do this route 3x a week and buy all my tickets (with a railcard attached) from the correct station on trainline. how on earth did it know i didn’t come from my original station today unless it is keeping track of either my location data or my historical ticket purchases?
