I had to go to A&E today, and when I had the blood test done she kept the needle in. Pretty much everyone in the waiting room all still had their needle in too, which I thought was weird as I've been to A&E a few times and they have never done this.

I didn't question it because I thought maybe they were going to need it later or something, but when they discharged me they didn't offer to take it out so I asked them and a nurse came and removed it.

Any reason this is kept in? It was pretty uncomfortable and I heard other patients complaining about it too.
