I payed 1,800 pounds for a 6 day stay at a 4 bed cottage in a uk seaside town. On arrival there were spiders and cobwebs everywhere. The sofas were crubby. Things needed a good dust. But the bedrooms and bathroom were clean, plus bedding. Apart for the spiders and webs which were everywhere. We decided to hoover them up and make the best of it. Unfortunately the spiders kept coming there must be an issue and the house needs treating. My daughter was absolutely terrified of the spiders and none of us could relax there.

So after 2 nights we left. I rang airbnb and explained the situation. I didn't initially take pictures before hoovering. But I didn't hoover the front porch/foyer so I took pictures in there of the webs and spiders. Amd explained it was like that around the whole house. Took some of the grubby sofa etc. But this was 5 mins before leaving as we just wanted to get out of there.
Initially the person I spike too said we would have a refund and the pictures were helpful.

Surprisingly they then came back and said after talking with the host and reviewing they couldn't offer a refund.
I also explained to the host that we left and why. He said they use a cleaning company and we should have contacted them. But I didn't realise that and felt that it was a choice to leave the webs and spiders as they were unmissable!

Anyway we ended up getting contacted by airbnb and receiving 300£ back. Bare in mind we left early so those 4 days could have been let out by the host and they didn't even offer us any refund at all. Despite me showing them the photos. The refund we had was airbnb policy.

So given everything what stars should I leave?
