My husband and myself plus our 8 and 10 year old have been invited to new friend's homes for dinner the past few years. After what seems lovely and nice and kids get on plus good conversation, we never have a follow up with them. Ashtrays send thank you text and bring food and offer to clean up after. It just seems we don't get traction following up on getting together after that. Not for dinner per se but playdates etc.
We had a major reno at our home so we haven't hosted people. Hoping to change that now but it's out because we didn't host back? It's like we get ghosted then they won't even talk to us really at the school etc.
It is really weird and I'm trying to figure out why. Anyone else have ideas?
