Summertime begs the question: what style of swimwear do you prefer, and why?

  1. I’ve been wearing a two-piece tankini the last few years. I like it because it’s easy to put on and, if I need to go use the bathroom, I don’t have to sit there mostly naked.

However, I don’t like it because the tank top part of mine tends to float up and billow out around me in the water. I just don’t like the aesthetic of that. A one-piece stays where it’s supposed to stay and covers what it’s supposed to cover, but it can be annoying to get into when your body is shaped weird.

  2. I like one pieces with cut outs and fun designs. I’ve never felt comfortable in a bikini for various reasons and I feel like fun one pieces are so much more comfortable and secure

  3. I’m old. I wear a tankini bottom that is a shorts or skirt style so I don’t have to shave, with a top that is a high-neck tank. It’s comfortable and versatile and offers pretty good sun protection. I’m way past the age where I would want anyone to notice me in a swim suit. I’m American and was at beaches in Europe recently and I just had to laugh about how I was more covered up than any other woman on the beach no matter how old or young, fat or thin. But regardless, I’m more comfortable with more coverage.

  4. Either a two piece with high waisted bottoms or a black one piece that’s not too highly cut.

  5. Bikini. My stomach is so white, I have such a farmers tan.

UNLESS I’m jumping off into a body of water, then one piece all the way.

  6. I prefer a bikini because I look better in them and it’s easier to use the restroom.

  7. I wear high cut one pieces for SUP, sailing and other water sports, for beach lounging always bikini’s. Never thongs because that piece of fabric up my bum crack is never comfortable especially if sand gets there.

  8. I live the look and feelingof bathibg suits.

But I have a pretty large chest and there is 1. No support and 2. No padding
I am uncomfortable to wear something without padding because my chest is large and nipples can be prominent due to cold water…

  9. Have to say I always wore a one piece. But now im 62 and love the two piece option. In the top the bras are better. I wear a full coverage bottom nothing skimpy.

  10. For comfort I prefer nude. If it’s a situation where that isn’t appropriate I’ll wear a tank top or rash guard and shorts. I hate wearing sunblock so as much as I hate the feel of a long sleeve rash guard, I’ll wear that with a hat and sunglasses. For comfort I’d prefer to swim nude in the shade by myself.

  11. I have to wear two pieces because my long torso. I prefer tankini tops and boy short bottoms.

  12. I usually wear retro bikinis because the sea waves won’t accidentlly take them off. I zone out very easily, so it takes several minutes to realize when the sea dragged the bra/panties to the side, and more several minutes to realize I’m not supposed to be fully naked in public.

However, since I’ve been working out I hope to be able to rock a thong when the summer comes (it’s winter here)

  13. I like a bikini but either high waisted or with a long-line top. I like a little bit of coverage.

  14. I wear a two piece — tankini top with swim shorts. It is the most comfortable and best looking swimsuit I’ve ever owned.

  15. One price, I’ve worn two prices and I’ve almost lost my bottoms when swimming more then once … I have also heard to many stories of people losing there tops in public swimming locations… no thank you… if I want to be topless then I go to a clothing optional beach

  16. I liked tankinis but then I got old, and now I wear fitted swim shorts (look like yoga shorts) and a tankini top. I’m comfortable, everything is secure, and I like the amount of coverage.

  17. Covering bikini with a skirt bottom. I find it more comfortable and SO MUCH easier to use the bathroom, one pieces are such a struggle when theyre wet and youre trying to put them back on

  18. Bikini! I prefer bottoms to be thong or brief/cheeky cut. I only wear one pieces when pregnant.

  19. The top is a long sleeve shirt made for swimming and the bottom is small swimming trunks. I don’t play around sunscreen and didn’t want to deal with reapplying my back even with help.

  20. I wear tankini tops with athletic shorts that are made for the water. I’m 54f and overweight with huge boobs, so this is what I feel most comfortable in. I also have a one piece that is a bit more revealing but still covers me up pretty well.

  21. I am not tending to the garden so I can wear a swimsuit and the gardens are also not open for public viewing, so a one piece and swim shorts.

  22. I bought a one piece from the Esther Williams collection years ago. It was the first time in my life I felt confident in a swimsuit. I bought a second.

  23. One pieces to me are soooo cute and flattering, they can look so elegant, but I do feel hotter (as in temperature) in them and I like to feel the sun on my tummy. So in general i prefer to wear a bikini, but aesthetically speaking, I think both are cute and one pieces are particularly beautiful a lot of the times.

  24. I prefer minimal tan lines and hate the senaation of a lot of fabric in the water, so a bikini with thong bottom is ideal for me.

  25. I grew up on SoCal beaches. Bathing suit was part of life. Mostly one piece. Now I’m old and I started wearing long sleeve swim shirts with boy short bottoms.

  26. Bikini top and swim shorts! I’m so done with bikini bottoms. Took me ages to find a cute pair of shorts, but I’m never going back.

  27. I used to just wear one pieces. Eventually gained more confidence, and now I wear two pieces. Usually high waisted bottoms. I like padded top, but I also like wired cupped ones. Really depends on the brand if they are very comfortable.
