I was hanging out with a friend last night and out of nowhere we talked about prenups like honestly I’ve never seriously thought about it before but in my head it’s always been one of those celebrity marriage things you read about in gossip magazines. But he was telling me that a lot more regular couples are doing it now not just people with millions in the bank.
We ended up debating it for a while like I’m actually in the protect yourself just in case group while he’s always seen it as this weird unromantic move that could make things awkward before you’ve even said I do. At the same time I get where he’s coming from like nobody wants to start off a marriage with legal paperwork hanging over it. But I also think life happens people change and money/legal stuff can get messy really fast.
If you were getting married in 2025 would you go for a prenup? Or do you think it sends the wrong message and just adds unnecessary tension before you’ve even started married life? I’m genuinely curious how other guys see it like especially from people who’ve either had one or decided not to.
