Mulling over an old friend (25M). I (32F) came out of a ltr and not long after, confessed I had a crush on friend. He turned me down, told me he only saw me as a friend, and wouldn't feel comfortable dating me as he knew my ex.

Two months later, we are texting everyday, hanging out all the time, he invites me to things he's doing. Seems super keen. He performs stand up and announces on stage how he's been messaging this girl he really likes. idk it just seemed aimed at me.

He never asked me out and the messaging just stopped. Then a year later we start hanging out again. He gets flirty with me. Messages start up again, we're hanging out a lot. Then.. it's a friend's mutual birthday and he spends the entire evening flirting with this other girl. I was so upset, and he noticed.

He avoided me for 2 weeks, then when I next saw him, he yelled at me that he "had done nothing wrong", it was all in my head, he told me were just friends before. He was so angry. But for the rest of that day, he sat next to me at every bar we (the group) went to, and then when we were playing darts that evening, he stood right behind me and I got this strong sexual energy from him. Which I thought was super weird, given what he'd said to me earlier that day. I wondered if I just imagined it, but I really dont think i did.

He also copied me all the time. He booked the same holiday destination as me. I mentioned i was moving apartment, 2 days later he announced he was moving apartment. I was dating someone then broke up with them. A week later he broke up with his gf. I was meeting up with him one afternoon, and said I had to stop by at the bank first – he repljed to say that he too had to visit the banthe Just lots of things where he seemed to mirror me.

Can someone shed light on all of this? I found being friends with him super confusing, and in the end, cut him off because I was so fed up of the mixed signals. I guess he was just immature and enjoyed the attention he got from me? Ive never experienced a "friendship" like this before or since.
