Long story, I'll try to give the essentials.
I (m21) and my girlfriend (f21) did long distance for 3 years. She came to my country working as a nanny where she also had accomodation. Things went well at first until she had issues with her boss and she was fired. Now she was homeless.
I live with my parents for financial reasons and they agreed she can stay with me for a while. Conflicts arose quickly due to them being uncomfortable with her living with us and many arguments were had. It was a really tough time which strained my relationship both with her and my parents. I was caught in the middle trying to stop things from escalating. They demanded she pays some form of Rent but she had no income which made it tough.
Now she found a new job which also has accomodations. But due to visa problems she can not work for 2 months and has no income. Because she's not working I have to pay for her rent there. My parents also charge me rent and I lost my job and am currently living off the state. Making my financial situation extremely bad
Now she wants to see a free concert with me. Problem is it's on the other side of the country which would make it a 15 hour train ride there and back. I told her I don't want to go because it seems really straining and I have a lot on my mind. This started an argument and she said that I let my parents control me too much. I mean naturally I love my parents and don't want to lose them, but I also don't want to lose her. My parents seem to really hate her and they claim she is using me. I am caught in this awful situation where it seems I have to decide between two parties.
While I dont think she's using me I have been paying for literally everything and I've helped her in every way possible but she was very disrespectful to me today and I lost my cool.
Likewise I have helped my parents with everything all my life and they continuously judge my relationship.
TL;DR – My girlfriend lived with us for a while due to homelessness, parents took issues to that, now they hate each other.
What side do I even take here?
