This might be a controversial opinion, but I truly believe that most people on dating apps are actually looking for their person to settle down and be in a relationship with.
What I think confuses a lot of people though, is that also doesn't mean that you're going to want a relationship with anyone and everyone you match with just because you have 'long-term' in your profile. Just because I want a relationship doesn't mean I want a relationship with YOU. Every dynamic is different and every connection is different.
-
We can match, go out on a date, enjoy each other's company but feel no connection and that's okay.
-
We can go out on a date, feel a friendship and stay friends and that's okay.
-
We can go out on a date, hookup and not see long-term relationship compatibility and that's okay.
…but ideally we could go out on a date, the stars align and we see genuine chemistry. We have similar goals, we have similar family values, hobbies and beleifs and see compatibility long-term.
This is my mindset when I'm swiping.
