How do you feel when someone compares you to a another woman (usually a celebrity) based on your looks?

Depends on context. Usually, I find it odd, but I assume they felt it was relevant for some reason.
Depends on the context. Though it’s usually pretty unnecessary and off base so I don’t react positively if at all. Celebrities have boat loads of money and very few are 100% natural.
Well, they are right, the cookie monster and I are, in fact, pretty similar….
I feel it is always unnecessary. Most of the time people comparison is meant as a compliment but this relies on you having the same ideal of what attractive as your interlocutor. If not then you risk getting insulting someone so I don’t see the point in doing that.
Honestly, it depends. Sometimes, it’s flattering. If the comparison is to someone beautiful, confident, or iconic it can feel like a compliment. Like, “Oh wow, really? That’s unexpected, but thank you.” It might even boost my confidence a little in the moment.
It’s usually just any Asian woman that comes to mind. I’ve gotten Lucy Liu, Sandra Oh, Margaret Cho, Constance Wu, Connie Chung, Mulan… none of whom even look remotely alike.
I don’t take it seriously, but it still annoys me.
Depends who the celebrity is.
When I was younger someone told me I looked like Gillian Anderson and frankly that’s the most beautiful thing anyone has said to me.
I think this entirely depends on how you see them. Someone told me a few years ago that I look like Florence Pugh, and like, great, she’s objectively a good looking person in a normal way. But idk, if I hated Florence Pugh and thought she was ugly I probably would have spiraled a bit.
I literally couldn’t care less. I usually get compared to the same couple of actresses, but I dont really see the resemblance, and it neither bothers nor flatters me.
I mean, I do the same thing in my head like “oh wow they look like so-and-so” its a pretty normal thing to think of
Fine, as long as they’re not comparing me to my mom!
I was flattered but confused because I didn’t see any resemblance
Great

Usually confused because I don’t follow celebrity culture and I wouldn’t have a clue who they were talking about.
If it’s a hot woman (which I have compared to) then it’s a HUGE compliment to me
Because it happens so often:
– Amy Lee
– Morticia Addams
– Wednesday Addams
– Kat Von D
I look like none of these people, really. I just have long black hair and black clothes.
People tend to see a single feature that sticks out to them and make the connection. Most times, you won’t actually share much in common with the celebrity.
So I just take it as a vague humourous comment and go about my day.
Happened recently. A man seemed delighted that I look like Sissy Spacek. I do and thought it was a nice compliment.
i dont like it, i dont like being compared to anyone, just make me a compliment if you want to be nice. shut your mouth if you wanna be mean. dont compare people to eachother
As someone said above depends who you’re getting compared to. My friends used to say I looked like Jeff Bezos. (Nerdy man days not current) But I think I was happy for at least a week when a group of wholesome guys decided I looked like the main character in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. (Can’t remember her name off the top of my head) I don’t see it but still was really nice to hear.
Oh man I just remembered I had huge crush on George Clooney as a teen. My friend yeah you do look like him 💀..lol we still laughing about it
Hate hate hate it. Hate ‘I saw someone who looked just like you!’ Hate ‘she could be your twin!’ Once got a message from an old friend that he was in classes with a ‘younger version of you who is extremely talented.’ And I tell you what, I hated that the most.
