I'm 25f and I've been on exactly 5 dates in total with 5 different people. For all of them I suggested grabbing a bite to eat, get some coffee or do something fun like a cinema or something. None of them liked the idea of meeting up for an hour or two. They wanted to spend the whole day with me. I was surprised, because I always thought a date was supposed to last only a couple of hours. But I live in The Netherlands and I'm pretty introverted, so I thought it was just me being weird and I went along with it, but I didn't really like it. For most of these dates, we met up at like 12PM and I would leave at 9 or 10PM. When I tell you I was exhausted. I'm not really good at spending such a long time with people who are still essentially strangers.
So a few days ago I talked to my mom and this topic came up. Her reaction was: "All day? That seems really long. Did you want that?" And I was like: "No! I just thought that's how it's supposed to go." Because if 5 different people want to meet up for a whole day, then I must be the odd one out. But I'm like, what would you even talk about on the second and third date if you spend a whole day together??
Now I'm not saying that if two people feel comfortable meeting up for a whole day, they shouldn't do it. Go for it! I guess I'm just wondering if I'm weird for not wanting to.
So how would you guys feel about going on dates that last from morning 'til evening? Would you enjoy that or does it sound draining?
