I am a single guy in my mid thirties.
At my mid-thirties, I feel annoyed to wake up early in the morning to go to work.
I always keep snoozing my alarm until it becomes very late and then I have to rush through my morning chores before going to work.
I just want to have that extra sleep. I will think of calling in sick but I realise that I just called in sick recently.
I will think to myself that if I was a millionaire, I will not have to go to work and just lie down on bed and sleep.
I am curious to know if other people around my age also feel the same.
Do you feel annoyed to wake up early in the morning to go to work?

Nope. I’m up at 5.30 and in the gym by 7. Then I’m ready for work.
Sometimes. But it’s not a pervasive feeling. Usually I just don’t like getting out of bed because I’m cozy and it’s cold….
..I don’t think you like your job
No, I never felt annoyed to go to work, I used to get up at 5 am by 5:30 I was out tge door, 6am I was at the machine. Did that for 30 years.
I was always a night owl and often rolled into the office around 9-9:30. Having kids in my mid to late 30’s made me tired by 9:30 at night but I still slept in. Now that I no longer have babies, I still go to bed around 10pm and I’m wide awake by 5:30. I don’t know the last time I even set my alarm and I end up getting to work around 7:30 and leaving by 4, beating rush hour both times. I really enjoy weekend mornings, drinking my coffee and reading before anyone else gets up.
Nope, but I enjoy my job.
When you have kids, the only peaceful time of the day is before they wake up.
I start work at 7:30 so I leave the house around 6:50/7 every day. I get up at 5:45 and have a very large, undisturbed coffee when I lay on the couch, look at memes, and chill before the chaos of the day starts.
When I was single, no, I woke up at 7:35 to get to work for 7:30.
I just took a career break for 3 months. Waking up with no schedule was amazing, loved hitting the gym 4-5 times a week and did some travelling.
Now im back to work and It takes literally all my will power to get up and go to work. I can relate.
It’s a sign that either you need to work on yourself or you need to change your job.
For me personally, the time off allowed me to decompress and im very content with where I’m at in life. Now that im back to work i know what the problem is, i need a new job and have started that process.
oh yeah dude…I hate having to work in general, and I do something I like haha…its always been the same, I just never feel up to it, but once im there it’s chill…I hate the constraint of something pending or waiting for me…
Yes, it’s fucking annoying for the main reason that there’s zero reason for me to be in the office more than maybe 2 days a week.
No I don’t. Why not consider a job on a different shift. Sleep into noon.
I wake up early to go to the gym and then go for a run before work. I’m up at 4am so I can have a nice morning. On days I don’t run, I’ll run some errands after I’m done at the gym.
Makes my evening so much more relaxing.
No. I love my job. Why would I be doing something I hate.
Everybody has a bit of a hard time getting up for work to one degree or another. But you have to, unless something really fortunate or unfortunate happens to you. I find as I get older I don’t ENJOY getting up for work…but I am happy to be awake. And that gets me out of bed everyday. It also keeps me from sleeping in on my days off.
Yes, that’s why I started an online business.
I wake up whenever I want, anywhere on earth.
I haven’t used an alarm clock for nearly a decade.
Go to sleep earlier.
Nope. Typically people who wake up with just enough time to shower and leave for work dislike their jobs. To counteract this I get up extra early to do things in the morning so I can go to work calm.
I’ll be the one comment that is seemingly going against the other comments here so far.
I hate having to wake up early for work. My circadian rhythm has never lined up with the typical work schedule. I wish I could just show up at 10-11 am as I guarantee id still get the same amount of work done cause those first 3 hours I’m basically worthless anyways.
I hate going to bed, because as soon as my eyes open I have to go to work. I like what I do, I’m just tired of having to do it.
Day shift I’m up at 415 am. I love to be home with the kids and sleep in until 6 am to get them ready for school.
I hated it when i was younger. I like starting work early and getting off early.
I haven’t regurally used an alarm for most of my adult life. I’d go to bed around 10 or 11 at night. Wake up two or three hours later, read or write for an hour, sleep until 4, wake up, go for little a run, eat breakfast, be to work by 5:30 or 6, PT with my guys, shower then work till 11 or noon. Eat and go to the gym, work until between 5 and 7pm. Eat somewhere in-between. Go home. Eat again. Stretch and unwind. Shower, start over again for the next day.
Days we were in the field or on a range or whatever were different, and obviously, being deployed was very different. But meh.
Since retiring, I’ve kept pretty much the same schedule. But instead of work after a run its a hike or fish or hunt depending on the time of year. Then eat and work out. Then fish or hike or hunt. Unless it’s a driving day.
I wake up at 4:30 for work.
Of course, you want to sleep in, but I tell myself I won’t feel any better if I get up or sleep for an extra half hour, so I just get up.
I did up until I got into my 40s. Then my body suddenly just decided that I got up at 6 or 6:30 for some reason.
I’m only annoyed if I do end up falling into the snooze trap because then I’m rushing without any time for myself. If I get up early enough to go for a decent walk and still have time to nurse a coffee, its usually going to be a good day.
Yes, but it’s much worse when I had a job I disliked.
Getting out of bed at a reasonable hour is a basic part of adulthood. No reason for a grown man to be sleeping in past 8 on any given day
I used to get annoyed by it. Then I started going to bed earlier.
I used to hate my alarm. It was down to the sound and making me feel on edge, as soon as I switched to a smart watch/band which woke me up with vibrations I felt much more at ease getting up.
My ideal work hours would be 10am-6pm. I’m off work for three weeks and I’ve been going to bed between midnight and 2am. If i didn’t have kids I’d probably work the graveyard shift.
Not really. I like my job. But I also have a kid, so while I don’t need to wake up until 7, I’m usually up somewhere between 3 and 6. So it’s not quite the same lol.
