For context: I’m French, but I am not interested in dating other French women, for reasons of my own. I currently live in Paris, and while moving abroad isn’t something I can do right now, I know there are quite a few foreigners in the city (American, British, Australian women, etc.), so I’d love to meet some of them.
I used to use Hinge a lot and had moderate success in the past. But since I got back on the app a few months ago, I’ve had zero matches. My profile hasn’t changed much, except that it’s now written entirely in English, not sure if that’s the issue.
I’d also be open to meeting people in real life (and not only date, but create friendships as well), but I have no idea where to go for that. I tried MeetUp, but it was mostly other French people trying to practice their English. Nice folks, but not what I’m looking for.
Has anyone had experience dating foreigners while staying in their home country? Are there general places or events in a big city where expats actually hang out and socialize? Any advice on making dating apps work better for this type of thing?
