And was it worth it?

  1. Probably gaming, i mean, i own all the sims 4 content, so thats already over a grand before including all my other games and all the hardware ive had over the years, i’d hate to calculate the exact amount, but its definitely over 20k, i’ve been gaming since i was a kid, i’m 26 now, and yes, it is worth it

  2. Well, my gym membership is about £60 per month, and I’ve been going for around 5 years, so that’s 60x12x5= £3,600

Then again, when I was first earning, I thought it would be a great idea to drop £2,000 on a new PC. That’s definitely the most I’ve ever spent in one way that wasn’t my house deposit or a car.

  3. For money spent over time, then it’s having a gaming laptop and pc and getting a bunch of games . At least $5000 spent over a decade

For money spent in one purchase, I spent $1,280 on a handmade custom butterfly knife and handmade sheath. It was definitely worth it having a butterfly knife and sheath that was made for me with my specific weird specifications.

  4. I spend hundreds on yarn. I am an avid knitter and I adore luxury yarns – natural fibers, hand dyed. It is not unusual for me to drop $200+ on a whim for beautiful yarn. And yes….its SO worth it. To me anyway.

  5. As in over time or in one go? I don’t think I could calculate the money I’ve spent on gaming between consoles, games, and MMO fees over the past 30 years. Or the cost of opting for better hardware for PC gaming vs normal computer use. We also won’t talk about my yarn and fabric stashes and their worth.

All in one go was probably the $900 I spent on my (second hand) sewing machine several years ago.

  6. My 12 inch Star Wars and other figures collection. Had even a little exhibition with them so yes, it is worth it.

  7. Amateur theatre from age 16-27(ish) yearly club fees, lib hire, costumes, various fundraising events, drink for the aftershow parties (IYKYK)!Absolutely loved it but it becomes a bit cult-ish after a while and cliquey, not to mention expensive!!

  8. I ride a motorcycle… different motorcycles and equipment over the years $$$

  9. Flying lessons.

I spent a lot of money on photography, but I would say flying lessons were more expensive.

  10. Reading. It’s hard to calculate, but I’ve probably spent $8000+ on books over the last two decades.

  11. Triathlon and gardening. Tens of thousands all in over 20ish years. Totally worth it.

  12. Food lol one of them, but mostly plants especially during spring… It’s not worth IF they die 😿 but worth at least I learn from the mistake I made every year.

  13. A bicycle for trail riding. I could have spent a lot *more* money but younger me would have Home Alone screamed at a $1200 bicycle 🤣

It was worth it for sure. Originally I had a cheaper bike that I found at a pawn shop and I picked it up so my boyfriend & I could spend more time together as he loved trail riding too. I upgraded because I use my bike SO much more than he uses his hahaha I had even planned to do the MidSouth Century this last March on mine but the event sadly got cancelled.

  14. Does getting tattoos count as a hobby? Cause I have about $14k worth.. and plans for more.

  15. Probably a couple hundred on yarn. It’s not entirely worth it since I have arthritis now and can’t knit as much as I’d like, so I’ve got storage bins of yarn that’ll take a very long time to get through.

My husband dropped a crazy amount on a really nice gaming laptop for me and that was definitely worth it since I’ve been playing videogames for years.

  16. I’m a gardener. I’ve spent thousands on plants, dirt, hardscape like rocks over the years. Definitely worth it.

  17. I own about 150 board games and have an entire room dedicated to board gaming and D&D in my home. Shelving, display shelves, painting materials (for miniatures). We just bought a new table for $200. Definitely the most expensive hobby in my house.

  18. Video games. Probably thousands lol especially if you include the consoles

  19. Gaming, mountain biking, rock painting and gun ammo for target shooting.

  20. Waiting for the horse girlies to pipe up. Horse, board, feed supplements, ferrier, vet, tack ……

  21. I call it “yarn shopping” when I go visit my stash in the attic for a new project 😬
