What’s something that you get unusually sentimental about?

Childhood traumas.
Small things being sad or hurt. animals, children. I cried today because there was a dog on the news that was found in the dumpster and saved.
Dance/Talent Shows – I was heavily interested and involved in these types of things as a youth, musically inclined, minor acting, art, etc
At 15 I was on my own and instead of afterschool activities like band & drama it became work and house care.
I get sentimental because I feel that I missed many opportunities & let my talents dwindle. I haven’t played instruments since I was 17 ðŸ˜
Trinkets that people who are no longer in my life have left behind.
Beautiful scenery. Views often make me deeply sentimental. I’ve witnessed views so breathtaking, I felt completely overwhelmed and in awe. Seeing animals being neglected or ill: it breaks my heart and makes me want to cry. And talking about my feelings and struggles as a child.
Watching old vendors in the streets
I love dramas about the complex relationship between a mother and her daughter 🥲
Most of my stuff and even stuff that could be thrown away like paper, boxes, rocks, stuff like that if it was around before my dad passed away. If there’s a possibility he touched it, I kept it
Leaving a place I’ve lived in. I always take time to say goodbye to the space that kept me safe. 🥹
Handwritten notes. Even dumb little ones. I always keep them.
Proposals in any media. My god does it get me bawling every time.
These days, the simplicity and nostalgia of my childhood (yes, I’m Gen X lol). Despite the absent parents, it was still great to be able to free roam and grow up the way we did. And we had the best toys, comics, tv shows, movies….
Seeing other women have healthy, wonderful, loving relationships with their moms. My mother is very mentally ill and still in the throes of addiction.
Music from my childhood.
leaving a vacation. even if I had an awful time, I almost always cry. going back to the real world just never sounds appealing enough.
