Nördlingen was great,a beautiful place! And we met some interesting characters there, including a couple of young Japanese guys who were dressed in full anime costume.
You can walk all the way along the battlements on the city wall.
Today we are in Nuremberg again,we might do another day trip tomorrow or just chill here, it’s a great city for sitting around and drinking a beer.
I like the sausages here too;-) Nuremberg style are very small sausages, you usually get a bread roll with 3 of them inside.
It’s also famous for lebkuchen (the fresh ones are excellent) and bretzels,a good snack when walking around.
Once in a while someone posts a question or statement regarding how few European households have air conditioning.
The small apartment block I live in has had some individual units installed, effecting those apartments. Now, someone has probably bought some sort of a cheap separate unit whose noise literally keeps me up at night. Thus far, that noise is the only thing that makes me think there might be something positive about the weather turning cooler and eventually cold as the year progresses – I’m loving the 26 – 30 degree temps outdoors!
It’s amazing how cat food is marketed for humans. You get stuff like “tender Guinea fowl in tomato jelly” or “reindeer with spinach and lingonberries”. Because of course, tomato and lingonberry are essential parts of cat’s diet, which must also include green vegetables. And the cat can totally distinguish Guinea fowl from whatever other animal they put in cat food. And they’re so expensive!
My neighbor has a giant lavender bush which does double duty as a buffet for bumblebees and butterflies. It makes me so happy to see all those different critters have breakfast in the morning! I could watch it for hours. I would love to plant one on the balcony, but my husband loathes the smell. At least in Turkey, floral scents used to be popular for men back in the day, and lavender was one of them, violet as well.
Is there a smell many people like, but you don’t?
I read a discussion on r/AccidentalRenaissance where someone posted the photograph of a woman in a restaurant (taken from the outside). Many people called it out for being wrong as it was taken and posted without consent (or the OP didn’t say anything about consent), and the others said that this is street photography and happens everywhere all the time (which is also true, photography subs are full off these as well).
I don’t know. I think taking a picture with someone in focus, where they’re clearly the subject, one should ask permission (even if you forget about laws, it is basic human decency). But if you are taking the photo of a public place and there are people in it? I guess it is okay, journalists do it all the time, though theoretically it is the same thing again. Complicated.
I withdrew 350€ from an ATM, and it gave me seven 50€ notes. What does a person have to do to get a 100 or 200 euro note? I don’t think I have seen one in like fifteen years.
