There’s this dental insurance thread which made me wonder again, why do health insurance companies treat teeth as something other than another organ? It’s absolute nonsense that health insurance and dental insurance are separate things. Like it’s okay that the tooth implant isn’t 100% covered, because there are other less expensive options, but if you have a tooth inflammation you can die from it just like any other inflammation. Such nonsense.
Anyhow.
I don’t know why but I woke up thinking of Foolish Games (the late 90s song). Being a kid, I used to love it back then but now that I think about it, it’s the most annoying song about a whiny woman who can’t get over the most annoying and useless asshole guy ever. Girl, compose yourself! I wish I didn’t understand the lyrics. I am sure I did understand them as a kid, I mean the words, but not like I do now of course.
Did you ever like a song but then get disappointed when you learned what the lyrics mean?
I’m watching reruns on a Finnish program showing hunters and fishermen and hikers doing their thing.
Most of the time undramatic, today’s episode showed a worrying situation: three hunters had set up black grouse decoys and lay in ambush with shotguns, hoping to get a bird or two as they approach the decoys. They started to hear shots and realized someone was shooting at their decoys with a rifle, thinking they were actual grouse. As they realized what was going on, they shouted out, telling that someone to stop shooting – due to shotguns having such a short range, they were super close to the decoys now receiving fire.
A well camouflaged guy emerged from behind a bush and answered by shouting ‘I’m sorry’, then walked away as if there was nothing to discuss. The people who had set up the decoys pondered he should have seen all the bags, boxes and other gear spread around the area, and realized something was wrong as even a hit to one of the decoys didn’t drop it. They ended up deciding to call the police.
What sort of a reputation do hunters have in your country, and are accidents common?
