The pill specifically but am happy to hear about any and all experiences regardless of the form of birth control

  1. No affect. I take seasonique pill birth control, I’ve had no symptoms on it. And I get my period once every 3 months, I really like it.

  2. The only one that killed it was depo. Do not go on that. Otherwise when I was on the pill and the patch I didn’t notice too much if a difference

  3. It killed mine, but everyone has different experiences. For me the nuva ring worked best. My libido wasn’t as high as normal on it but it wasn’t completely shot either.

My husband got a vasectomy as soon as our second was born. 10/10 recommend. (Obviously not an option for everyone lol).

  4. the pill always dropped mine

never getting anything that requires an appointment to stop (IUD, injectable)

  5. The pill killed my libido, made me really dry down there, terrible mood swings and felt angry and annoyed all the time.

  6. Depo murdered mine. Nexplanon caused so much vaginal irritation that I was scared to have sex and irritate it more.

  7. Killed it. When I came off of it and realized how good it felt to have back the libido that my hormonal birth control was suppressing, I was pretty upset. So many years of having little to no drive.

  8. On the pill it killed it, it was non-existent (which kind of defeats the purpose of being on it). But I had been on the pill since I was 18 so I didn’t know any different.

As soon as I stopped it…boom! Libido through the roof. I got the Kyleena IUD about 3 years ago and I’d say it has increased since

  9. When I was on the pill I had an average to low libido I would say. When I got off the pill and got a copper iud, my libido went through the roof. I’ve had my iud for four years now and my libido has calmed down slightly, but still much higher than when I was on the pill.

  10. Yes, majorly. On my second week of Slynd- sudden high libido, orgasms are easy to achieve, EXPLOSIVE, and I’m probably going to break my toy soon 😅 before, it would take me about 45 min to an hour to get even a slight orgasm. Totally night and day.

Edit: I do much better on Birth control than I do off of it, that’s been the case every single time I’ve tried it. This is the first progesterone-only pill I’ve had tho. I’ve always had the combo pill.

  11. I take the mini pill and I haven’t noticed any side effects at all besides occasional breakthrough bleeding. So I started taking Evening Primrose Oil and now I’m back to normal. I wonder if taking a libido supplement could help?

  12. It was non existent. Then I got married and felt bad, I wanted to want sex but I genuinely could’ve gone the rest of my life without it. Stopped the pill and now I turn feral during ovulation

  13. It wasn’t until I got off the pill that I realized how much it had killed my libido.

  14. It didn’t. If anything it went up slightly because I was no longer constantly terrified of getting pregnant. I’m on generic seasonique and I skip every other placebo week so I only get two periods a year.

  15. No effect. No change when I was on the pill most of my early 20s, and no change no that I’m 29 with an IUD.

  16. Absolutely disappeared and never heard from it again…. Give me back my libido 🙏😞

  17. It evened it out weirdly. I no longer got that desperate for it feeling I sometimes get off of it, but I also didn’t get the completely dead down there feeling I sometimes get during my natural luteal phase. Instead it was just “yeah alright, sex sounds cool” most of the the time, but not as much independent craving for it. Honestly it was kind of nice, the dead feeling always makes me anxious my libido is gone or my relationship is broken, even though it always ends after a week or 2.

  18. Tanked it. That’s gotta be part of how it works…just utterly tanks all desire.

  19. Since coming off birth control (that I took for several years and which suppressed my cycle heavily, if not all the time. At best I used a liner for 3-4 days every few months) I have definitely noticed a difference in not so much as my libido, but awareness of drive? For the first time in a long time I’m actually feeling my full cycle, including ovulation of course, and I can *tell*. Sex isn’t a priority to me and I’m not dating anyone right now/not interested in hookup culture, so I don’t do anything with my drive which I why I hesitate to call it libido.

Either way, coming off birth control (and having my tubes removed) has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself for so many reasons.

  20. On a hormonal IUD, what I came to realize is that my libido rises and falls with my menstrual cycle and so without the cycle, I didn’t get those regular highs anymore. In the last couple years of having the IUD, I started to get a light period and ovulation symptoms again and things felt more “normal.” So there’s a trade-off there.

  21. I was on the Blisovi Fe pill for 2.5 years and my sex drive plummeted lol. I would get annoyed when my partner would try to initiate sometimes. So glad I finally got off of it and switched to copper iud.
