Does the city you live in get few or many tourists in the summer?

The city I live in, which is Volos in Greece, is not the first destination to the country when it comes to mind. Now I have seen some tourists, but not to a large extent to classify it as a touristy spot.

Stockholm. Quite a lot of tourists, but they are usually concentrated around the Old Town and the surrounding areas. In other words, they are pretty easy to avoid.
The city of Izmir doesn’t get a massive amount of tourists in summer, but the resort towns in the area do. Still, the tourism volumes in the Aegean are lower than Antalya.
In the last few years Sofia mostly gets young western travellers who come independently with the low-cost flights to check out the city. I guess the nature (big mountain right next to the city), somewhat different culture and lower prices are attractive. They also use it as a base for nearby attractions like the Seven Rila Lakes, the Rila Monastery or Plovdiv.
Typically it’s a different crowd from the Black Sea beach tourists or the ski resort people.
Volos is an awesome place by the way, loved the tsipouradiko experience and the nearby Pelion is absolutely stunning!
I’m in Nice, and we get a lot of tourists in the summer. And in the winter. Its always busy here, but extra crowded in August. But I like it.
We moved from Chicago which got a ton of tourists but it was fairly easy to avoid most of them to Amsterdam which gets a ton of tourists but it’s a fair bit harder to avoid them. They literally saturate most of the city center. Many prime areas are overrun every day
Düsseldorf, quite a lot of tourists but only for daytrips/weekends. Mainly from other German cities or the Netherlands. Albeit tons and tons of stags from the UK/Ireland.
I’d say there are more tourists in summer due to a lot of Rhine River cruises and a few popular festivals in the city such as Japan day but December is crazy. The city is essentially Dutch since they all come over for the Christmas markets, there are even Dutch/German tag-team police teams patrolling the streets.

Rotterdam – they don’t bother me. I love tourists
