Did you also want access to buy the cyber truck?

  1. > Did you also want access to buy the cyber truck?

Fuck no. Everyone I know laughs at that thing.

In general Telsas aren’t in good standing here anymore. Two of my neighbors sold theirs. Sales are way down. They can leave Denmark and the country would be a better place.

  2. I was considering a Tesla but after sieg heiling etc by Elon never. Cybertruck is an idiotic car, I really hope it never is accepted for EU market.

  3. No, American pickups aren’t sized for European roads and have issues with pedestrian safety so to the height nevermind all the issues specific to the cybertruck

  4. No, I don’t want a car that doesn’t pass the safety regulations of my country. I strongly prefer a car that wouldn’t kill a child on impact if I accidentally were to hit one.

  5. The reputation has suffered immensely when Elon joined team Trump. Doesn’t help that the competition has caught up and Tesla isn’t the only fast/comfortable/cool EV anymore. And no, I’m glad the cybertruck isn’t sold here. Too big, too ugly, too poorly built but most of all way too unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists.

  6. Europe is not a single entity but a constellation of wonderful human beings, each with their own ideas or thoughts on your question.

  7. Leaving Elon aside, on a very basic level the cyber truck is impractical for narrow roads or most parking spaces where I live (Ireland). Looking at posts online showing bits falling off etc. the build quality looks poor. I’d say style over substance but then again I don’t think it looks good either. It is good however to see manufacturers try new designs which are quite different and bring them to market.

Tesla itself for me is no longer on my list when buying an ev, I can’t support a company so synonymous with musk and what he has attempted to do politically in Europe in supporting certain parties I disagree with on a fundamental level.

  8. Mediocre build quality, questionable design choices, and now you also risk getting your car set on fire by the far left. That’s a no from me.

I actually don’t mind the Cybertruck, but it has the same issues as all the other models.

  9. I have one, I like the car, and I will keep it. But I would not have bought one now. I am planning on de-badging it. I already have the kit.

  10. The normal models were pretty popular, they were some of the most popular electric car models. But not anymore.

Cybertruck on the other hand has always been a joke.

  11. This could just be confirmation bias, but I feel Tesla’s software doesn’t account for cyclists. We. Have several calmed residential streets that are one way for cars and two way for cyclists. Drivers take that into account. Teslas don’t. They just take the center of the street, leaving cyclists very little room. It’s not programmed for our streets.

So that’s what I think of when I hear Tesla. Self-important and inconsiderate.

  12. It used to be the cool premium electric car. Now the classic premium brands have started to make cool electric cars so Tesla isn’t popular.

  13. As a German, they haven’t had a good stance with me, getting millions of tax money for the factory, trying to mess with workers rights and so on. The cherry on the shitcream was the Hiltergreeting, sorry, 2 Hitlergreetings. Could leave and won’t be missed.

  14. I only learned about the existence of a cyber truck when shit went sideways with EM. Did everyone else know about them? Before these events I also rarely thought of Tesla, I must admit. If you asked me what I thought back then, I would say it’s something other people buy. Right now it’s a bit hard to separate the art and the artist (you know what I mean).

  15. The original Tesla’s where designed before Elmo bought the company and as a result are quite good.

The Cybertruck is all Elmo calling the shots, and it really shows he is a shit engineer.

He is good at moving money around and should stick to that.

  16. I genuinely enjoy the car in itself, but would never buy it because of Elon (I hate the cyber truck though). I hope Elon ends up selling Tesla so I can eventually get myself one.

  17. If it can’t pass our traffic safety tests, it has no business on our roads, simple as that. I’ve personally never seen it as an interesting vehicle but I consider the safety aspect crucial. In Finland, pickup trucks in general have a very limited fan base here, they’re bought primarily by America fan boys who aren’t interested in electric vehicles. People who haul stuff get a van that keeps the cargo safe from snow.

Tesla as a brand? I appreciate how they’ve worked for developing EV’s. If buying one, I’d still choose another brand, one that has a history in making cars and has since jumped in the EV game. Too many stories of regular Teslas spending weeks at garages waiting for spare parts.

Plus of course, when you live a one hour flight away from the worst death camps of WWII, you don’t take it lightly when an actual grown-up literally makes the Nazi salute in public like he did.

  18. I’d rather drive an old, rusty Lada than a Cybertruck, that ugly ass piece of shit.

What I think of Tesla? The same that I think about any big corporation. As for the cars themselves: I never drove a Tesla so I can’t judge the cars and all I know about them is that EVERYTHING’S COMPUTER.

But it’s clear that I prefer to avoid Tesla because Elon’s a massive cunt. I mean yeah “separate the art from the artist” well no. If I have alternatives, why would I stick to the art of a man that I despise?

  19. I don’t know about other Europeans. I can only speak for myself.
Tesla seems to attract Elon fanbois, people who would normally buy a midlife crisis sports car and those that like a fuhrer seig. The cyber truck is impractical for European back roads, does not meet safety requirements and has terrible build standards. There are better off roaders available in Europe and the design looks awful. Other Teslas have poor design decisions and poor panel fit.

  20. 1 the company is behind other car manifacturer, what they offer aren’t competitive

2 seriusly? that thing? for what? is ugly, is bad on european roads, has more problems than a clinically online redditor who has to discover what soap is.

3 the owner made himself a fool, attacked EU politics, placed himself in favor of far right, and generally speaking is annoying as hell, so why buy a subpar american product, or worse a useless subpar american truck, in europe?

  21. Someone, who actually owns a Tesla, so my five cents:

I bought it two years ago, before “Elon went crazy”, in a way, but I didn’t consider his person in the buying process at all. I think the Model Y, which I have, is still one of the best if not the best option in its class. I don’t want to go into technical details, but I have considered other brands as well and some of them made it very high in my list (like my country’s brand Skoda).

Today, I would still consider it, but Elon’s personality would be a deterrent for me. Also, some of the competitors stepped up in some ways (and in some not). Again, don’t want to go into technical stuff.

As for Cybertruck – on my vacation last year in Florida I had the chance to get into one, check it out etc. I was surprised it is not as big as other trucks on the roads, but for European roads it’s still ridiculous in size. For me it is a cool technological demo (steer by wire…) but as a standalone car I think it has way too many downsides.

  22. They remain popular here. Tesla Model Y has been the most sold car model for the last couple of months, helped by competetive prices and a pretty aggressive promotional financing offer (0% interest for the first 3 years).

    Haven’t seen any cybertrucks though.

  23. Regardless of Musk. I do find their cars terrible price to quality ratio. FSD was never something i craved but i craved technology to support me especially during dangerous and mundane parts of the journeys.
Tesla is simply lacking. I don’t want to do everything on a tablet, i want to have proper instrument screen and HUD, i want physical buttons that are easy to navigate and i want proper sensors and monitors for collision detection, and so on.
Also their charging infrastructure is not the fastest nor the best these days.

I also find their design dated at this point. It’s in a sense like iPhones, there was like 20 years of them having 1-3 models and all look the same for years. So not exciting car.

And now when you add Musk to the equation and all that it brings to you, i really wonder why anyone would want their car these days. Other EV’s are often seriously simply better.

Cybertrunk i ignore because this is obviously cheap rage bait question. It can’t be made legal on the public roads anyway without major design changes

  24. >Did you also want access to buy the cyber truck?

I’m sure there are some blind guys out there trying to think of a way to waste money and look like an absolute idiot.. but not many

  25. Purely from a motoring perspective and leaving the politics at the door. I wouldn’t dream of buying a Tesla. Overpriced for the cheap tacky interiors. I never got the hype? There are so many EV’s I’d rather jump into for a daily spin to work that any Tesla.

That truck is one of the most visually offensive vehicles I have ever had the misfortune of looking upon. Can not understand the thinking behind it.

  26. The cybertruck is a badly built and overhyped pedestrian-mulcher 3000. No civilized country should allow it on its streets.

  27. I don’t like Tesla and I wouldn’t want to support Musk in any way, shape or form.

Regular Teslas look OK, but the cybertruck is uglier than a Multipla! It’s also junk.

  28. I’m not a big fan. I have no problem with electric cars but I’d probably buy German or Chinese (depending on my budget) instead.

    >
Did you also want access to buy the cyber truck?

Absolutely not. I can’t come up with a single reason to buy that thing in the US let alone in the EU.

  29. Even before Musk’s madness became apparent I thought Teslas were terrible cars. Having so much stuff on a touch screen instead of proper controls is an idiotic design.

The cyber truck is just an even idioticker design. I drew things like that when I was four.

  30. Cyber Trucks do not pass EU and UK safety regulations. Why would I want access to a car that cannot do the basic??

Even ignoring all the Musk drama, Cyber Trucks are not fuel efficient, unnecessarily huge, not safe and will damage the road more than a normal car would

  31. It’s a terrible company that is very close to violating labour laws in germany with their aggressive tactics of stalking sick workers, their products are some of the worst on the market and the cybertruck is a complete joke that nobody here would want.

  32. I dont think ive ever heard anyone say something positive about the cybertruck.

We have a hatred for big american trucks anyways, but the cybertruck is just next level.

  33. I never understood why someone would buy the cyber truck and who their target audience is.

Tesla’s decline in Europe is mostly because of competition from European brands and Chinese brands that entered the market. Tesla is not special anymore.
Musk being a massive idiot also doesn’t help.

  34. it is rly popular (in my town they have a stand) and i have been in one and they are rly comfortable, easy to drive, fast, and luxuorious. Sadly, they are highly overpriced.

Also, some ppl are now substituting their eletric cars (inclluding teslas) for BYDs. Ig they are the new trendy thing now.

I personally have two things against those brands:

    1. they are wayyyy out of my budget
    2. They do not have manuals. I am in driving lessons, so, obviously, i´d benefit from buying a manual rn (if i was car searching) as it is better for me to learn to control the car without hiccups.
