Arugula
Pickles or onions.
Finding an insect in between it.
Mayonnaise. I detest the taste of it.
Mayonnaise!
curry dressing
too much condiments so its soggy and dripping
Aragula
I hate mustard! And pickes, but those you can pick off. Mustard ruins it

Too much mustard or Mayo
Pickle.
I freaking hate pickles and the smell & flavor lingers even after you picked it off 🤮
Onions
Soggy bread
Yellow Mustard. Pass.
Too much spread. Hate a wet, sloppy sammy
When the meat slices are not “flowered” or arranged up to allow for more air flow; when you just put slices of meat stacked up in your sub like sheets of paper – it’s the WORST! You don’t get a full flavor profile, AND you will likely have ALL of your meat fall out of the sandwich when you take a bite – it just slides right through your grip. Awful!!
I hate when the ingredients aren’t evenly distributed. Or when there’s a huge chunk of meat and barely anything else. I want a nice thin layer of each ingredient in each bite. I always take my sandwiches apart to redistribute everything before I can eat it.
Too much mayo. Yuck!
Onions if they’re overpowering. Sogginess.
Mustard. I don’t even want to smell it anywhere near my food.
Miracle Whip being used interchangeably with Mayo. It is NOT mayo.
Relish or any other kind of sweet pickle. Blech.
Anything sweet. Especially if it’s honey-flavored. Honey is disgustingly sweet to me.
Tomato
As a vegetarian, meat 😛
I’m not a “sweet meat” person. So honey smoked anything, apples, apricots, sweet jams and sauces are out for me. Give me savory all day.
Red (purple) onions. I like white and yellow, but red onions are so strong, it kinda takes over the sammich. I feel like I’m eating an onion sandwich over anything else.
Soggy bread!
Raw onions. The smell and taste permeate it, even if removed.
Untoasted bread
Green peppers.
Pickles. You can pick them off, but everything on the sandwich will still taste like pickles.
When the tomato’s thicker than the meat like pleaseee
Hard bread that hurts to bite it or a too-much-meat-to-everything-else ratio (I like an unmeaty sandwich lol)
Stale dry bread that cuts up the roof of my mouth. Or, when I take a bite, and everything falls out of the other end. Bad sandwich architecture.
The person preparing it not wearing gloves
Definitely tomatoes.
And I like tomatoes, just individually ahah
olives or condiments that include them, like tapenade.
Spicy peppers or relishes that include them.
Peppers that come out of a jar or can.
Stinky cheese
Too much meat! Please don’t give me an inch of sliced deli meats to justify charging more. I’ll take most of it off and feel guilty about the waste (money and meat.)
When the bread falls apart, my sandwich is ruined.
The bread getting soggy too fast because the ingredients are soaking wet
Too much Sauce Slippage or Not Enough Bun/Bread
Sauce slipping on Slippery Ingredients that just make a sloppy sandwich mess
When the sauces Mix Together to create a gloopy mess
I often ask for an extra bun or I’ll ask for sauce on the side and add my own sauces at home.
When I go to eat it and all my insides fall out
American style bbq sauce that tastes like someone put a sugar cube in my mouth and made me smell smoking tyres.
Nope nope nopity nope for me.
Sweet pickles/relish are disgusting 🤢
#Really jenky bread.
You can have really expensive, nice charcuterie or some cheap, basic deli meat. Either can still be tasty if done right.
There’s an assortment of sauces and fillings, but that is all based on personal taste and doesn’t necessarily “ruin” a sandwich.
But EVERYONE can agree – bad bread ruins a sandwich!
There’s this sandwich shop here locally with great fillings and flavors. They get a really soft, airy, hoagie style bread for their sandwiches. When it’s a cold sandwich, it’s too thick and too dry. The bread to fillings ratio is wrecked. For hot sandwiches, they use a panini press. The bread is so airy and soft, it just smooshes flat. The worst part is that it doesn’t really get crispy. So now you just have a flat, soggy, soft sandwich. It blows.
It’s the same when you get those really high hydration sourdough bread slices from artisanal sandwich shops, and they slice it too thick and toast it. Like, yes, the sourdough is fantastic and rustic, but it is shredding the roof of my mouth to eat this damn sandwich. Yeeeesh.
Yeah, I have a lot of feelings about this.
No mayo
Too much of any condiments. I like them, but please don’t do too much 😞
An uneven bite! I hate biting into a massive amount of deli meat but nothing else, instantly gives me the ick.
