Here in the US, due to our history of being a "melting pot", there are several foreign cuisines that are equally as popular as mainstream White American cuisine, if not more – most notably Mexican, Chinese, and Italian. These cuisines have heavy American influence, but were still invented by immigrants from their respective countries. It's also not uncommon to find restaurants serving cuisines from places like Japan, Thailand, India, Korea, Latin America, Greece, the Middle East, etc. Additionally, immigrant groups with large populations, such as Mexicans and East Asians often have dedicated grocery stores. Are cuisines like these also popular in Europe, or do Europeans mainly prefer to eat the local cuisines from the regions and countries they are from?
