I was taking to my husband’s aunt. She’s super extra and fun. I noticed she was drinking her water in a wine glass and I commented on it. She says she has a drink in her wine glass every day before bed because every day is a celebration. It’s her way of thanking God for what the day brought her and toasting to him, good or bad.
I’m not religious, but I tried it out myself, and now it’s a daily thing for me. It makes you feel pampered in a strange way, like a form of selfcare because it’s just so ridiculously bougie. I think the intention of going out of your way to grab your fancy wine glass and pouring something into it also makes you slow down and recognize how good you’ve got it.
Anything (intentional or otherwise) that makes you think about how good you have it, or slow down and appreciate the life you’ve got?
When I had nowhere to go, not even family support to work as a waiter to save my life, I went to a public library and applied for jobs. Those computers, though old, can still be means through which you could tell the world you’re still *useful* to life.
a nice cool morning while drinking coffee with my cats 🙂
The 5 senses. Take one out and life turns dark. So yeah, I’m thankful those are intact.

When my cats lay on me when I’m in bed 🥹 It’s so nice knowing that you are a safe space for these sweet little babies
A cup of coffee
My daughter’s laughter or a little hug and smile.
Music. Just in general, that it exists. Us silly little animals decided to carve wood into intricate shapes and perfect the drying of strings and learned to make these beautiful metal objects… just because the sounds they make bring us joy. And then on top of that those sounds bring us so much joy we feel the compulsion to wiggle around and show everyone how much we enjoy it. It’s both adorable and admirable that people decided to master what initially was just a sensory experience and make it more powerful and intricate and emotional.
It is?
My baby getting excited to see me while standing in his crib when I come into his room in the morning after he wakes up
Being woken up to kitty cat biscuits. She’d crawl into my kangaroo pouch if I had one.
Bought a boat recently, so weekends on the lake have GREATLY improved my mental health & happiness.
Buying myself some flowers once in a while.
A sweet treat
For me, it’s the little things like the smell of fresh coffee in the morning, a random text from a friend
When you have many problems , but your family gives you the strength to keep going
Operas, movies, songs, a hug from my partner.
Birds singing, new leaves on my plants.
Fresh bedsheets, good Wi-Fi, and a nap I didn’t plan. That’s luxury.
My Labrador wagging her tail while she’s sleeping 🥰
A satisfying homemade meal that makes you close your eyes to savor the moment
That all my kids, including my 16yo son, still give me hugs.
Forehead kisses
I try to keep myself on a positive track. One day I was feeling crappy so I went on a walk and decided to list the things I was grateful for. I rushed through the first few things. A home to live in, a car to drive, a business to run, my kids are healthy… And then all of a sudden, I stopped in my tracks. I realized that if there was a kink in the armor in any of the things I just listed, that I initially thought were just the things I needed to get out of the way, life would be totally different. Especially when it comes to the kids.
I have been on a self healing journey for 25 years now. I’ve had waves of awareness, epiphanies, aha moments, and I’ve even had an energy clearing. It was not intentional, but it completely changed my life. In my pursuit of happiness, I of course, watched the movie the secret, way back in the day. The One author/speaker that resonated with me was Mike Dooley. I’ve read every single one of his books, some of them so many times I can’t count. I took his certified infinite possibilities, certification training twice, online. It is a daily effort of mine to remain focused and positive. There’s no way to quantify what this has done for me, but I know I have a peaceful home, a successful business and a healthy relationship. My perspective is big picture, and I have goals for the future, but I always include, or better! You never know what’s in store, but if you think positively, you’re going to attract positive.
My dog
I work third shift and at night around 8 PM. My alarm goes off to wake up, so picture me laying on a pillow and a 15 pound brown, mini Australian Shepherd, lays his head on top of the side of mine… sometimes he sniffles at my ear, if I’m being really stubborn, but in any case he always wakes me up and it’s that moment of peace that tells me everything‘s gonna be OK

Laying in bed cozy with the fan on, window open hearing the rain, my two kitties sleeping nearby, and my husband cuddling me.
Honestly, watching birds walk around on the lawn. Their little head bobs. The little cheeps.
Seeing the sun through the trees, looking at my husband
Right now, its this cup of coffee that I had been wanting all morning & I finally have in my hands
My dog waking me up in the morning with a gentle boop of her nose to mine. Even if it’s because she needs a wee I still think it’s sweet.
I watched my daughter learning to sound out words while looking at her dad’s magic the gathering cards. And it just tickles me!
Cooking dinner and dancing in the kitchen with my girlfriend
My golden poppies that grow wild in my yard. Every spring I get little rays of sunshine in my yard.
One small thing that reminds me that life is good is reading outside on a sunny day. I sit in my camping chair (it’s low so my feet can touch the ground), look around at the trees and shrubs and grass and birds in the birdbath, I feel warm, and I just go, “Ahhh, life is alright.”
I call them Glimmers. The opposite of triggers. The little things that just make life better.
Baby animals.
Flowers in a neighbor’s yard.
The smell of wood smoke or a barbecue.
The way the mountains in my city absolutely glow as the sun is setting.
My family all laughing together at something.
Writing on the first page of a brand new notebook with a really excellent pen.
Everything. The sun on my skin, music. But more than anything it’s waking up next to my husband when he doesn’t go to work. I can’t believe I get him for a whole day and it just reminds me of how beautiful life is.
