  1. Are people in Europe cancelling their American services tomorrow as part of the US protest?

  2. Just got off on a train station in a town I haven’t been to in a while, and the first view that greets me is an adorable cat lying in a cat bed (or whatever those things are called) placed on one of the station benches. I have seen the bed there before, but never the cat. Off to a great start to the day with that

  3. What’s the biggest looking building you’ve seen in your life (it doesn’t have to be objective)? The Empire State building and One World Trade Center (the current itteration) in New York City both look quite impressive, but the latter is much taller and stands out even in a city filled with huge buildings. Hong Kong is another city I’ve seen (mostly from the air) with large numbers of huge buildings. The view of Victoria harbor at night with the sheer number of skyscrapers surrounded by mountains is simply breathtaking. I think the tallest building I saw there was the International Conference Center. Something about the surrounding huge skyscrapers being dwarfed by these buildings make their size look more extreme.

This one isn’t an existing building, but the K-25 gaseous diffusion plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, would probably take the cake over all those skyscrapers if I ever got the chance to see it before its demolishment. The sheer area of the remanant floor looked about the size of a small town. Unfortunately, it was a uranium enrichment facility that was probably off limits to the public before demolishment.

  4. How do you guys feel about audiobooks? I gave them a go a few times, but I keep drifting off and then it’s a pain to find where I was. It’s also soooo much slower than my normal reading (obviously). But they’re also super popular. I wonder if I am doing something wrong or they’re just not for me. Maybe I should try out some short stories rather than whole novels.
