Is it socially acceptable in your country to blow your nose in public?

I am Hungarian, and I recently learned that in many countries it is considered extremely rude to blow your nose in public, whereas in Hungary it is completely acceptable. Here, it's actually considered more "impolite" or strange to keep sniffing and not blow your nose.
