  1. The last elections were the European ones and I voted for a small centrist movement that admittedly had little to no chance of gaining a seat.

My own views have the least amount of overlap with right liberal (who in the US are called ‘libertarian’) parties.

  2. I can’t vote where I live but in the UK I voted Liberal Democrat. I was registered in a safe Labour seat but I don’t agree with the mostly two-party electoral system and Labour are quite uninspiring, however there was no danger of the Conservative Party winning the seat so I wanted to boost the LD national vote share.

I could never vote for Reform UK (or whatever Nigel Farage’s grift is this year), let alone Reclaim and BNP (populist right to far-right parties). I’d also never vote for the Workers Party of Britain (or whatever George Galloway’s grift is this year – far-left/pro-authoritarian left)

  3. I voted for the left-wing SF in both the most recent national and European elections. It would be more likely that hell freezes over than I would ever vote for DF, Danmarks Demokraterne, or Nye Borgerlige (all three being solidly on the right-wing of the spectrum)

  4. I voted for center-left PRO-EU coalition, they won so I am absolutely happy and I think poland is back on right track.

I don’t know the alternatives well besides populist party (that was in power for many years) that lies to everyone, including its voters who mainly consist of people who know nothing about politics or economy, and a right wing party full of nutjobs.

  5. If I could I would vote for Volt, a pan-European party, because it addresses one of the largest EU’s problem: lack of cohesion at foreign policies.

I would never vote for anything extreme: Heimat (“motherland”), der 3. Weg (“the third way”), AfD, BSW (far-left).

  6. Moving to Poland in a few months so I have no voting record there (despite having citizenship). That said, I’ll never vote for Konfederacja.

  7. Voted for the center-left SD (Social Democrats) in the European elections (not my first choice, but the others didn’t have much of a chance) and will never vote for right-wing (to center-right, depending on the time and media) SDS (Slovenian Democratic Party).

  8. Independent pro-indy candidate, befote that SNP

Would never vote for any England basef / pro union party

  9. I voted for Merez (progressive left party), which unfortunatly didn’t enter. I would never vote for any of the current government parties, especially Likud (Netanyahu) or RZ.

  10. Greens.

I’d never vote for AfD and other fascist or nazi parties, as well as their sympathisers, like BSW.
I also would never vote for CDU or FDP, as they’ve time and again shown that they despise the “small folk”, would throw them under the bus any chance they get and would always try and make legislation to accommodate the rich and super rich.

My wife and I are in the top 15% by household income (after I started working after graduating relatively late, at the end of last year, over 30 years old) in Germany, but we both absolutely dislike the capitalist narrative and the unnecessary suffering of poor people in such an incredibly rich country like Germany. It’s somewhat annoying to me that the majority of the Greens and pretty much all their top politicians are economically right, but at least they’re working on improving our future.

  11. I voted Labour in the last election. I would never vote for parties like the BNP (fascist) or the Worker’s Party (weird hybrid of extreme left authoritarianism and right wing pro-Putin populism).

  12. Vote for the center-right in Spain, as protest against the lack of actual change from the left-wing coallition, but I regret it kow since said conservative party is now open to do pacts with the far-right. I would never give my vote to an extremist party.

  13. Last time I voted for the PvdD (Party for the Animals). Not completely my cup of tea, but I think it’s important to have a solidly left wing and progressive voice in parliament (especially considering the general Dutch political leanings).

I’m never going to vote for the far right FVD, but I think that’s what most people would say nowadays (they were relatively popular a couple years ago, but they went really off the deep end during the pandemic). Also never going to vote for the conservative liberal VVD.

  14. Though I am of center left persuasion, I most recently voted for a LFI (radical left) candidate at the legislative elections, because there was a broad left coalition that I wanted to support that used a single-candidate strategy (meaning the different left parties would basically divy up the circonscriptions between them and only enter one candidate in each, which was optimal to maximize the number of left deputies over all). I would never vote for a far right party (RN, Reconquête and some others).

  15. I voted for the left wing coalition Sumar (not because of Sumar, the political party, but another party in that coalition).

I would never vote to Vox (far right), SALF (weirder far right) or FO (in theory far left, but works more like a fascist party).

  16. The EU parliament elections were my first elections and I voted for “Progresīvie”, a progressive, left-wing, green party.

There are many parties I would never consider voting for, including “Stabilitātei!”, a pro-Russian, eurosceptic, populist party. Another one is “Latvija Pirmajā Vietā” (Latvia in First Place). The party is led by a known oligarch, it’s like his 5th party and he tries to be some weird Latvian imitation of Trump ig. He could be called conservative, but he’s just populist really.

  17. Groenlinks-PvdA

    I would never consider:

SGP ( self-described theocrats , had to be forced to allow women to stand on their ballot. Present themselves as experts on constitutionality but regularly put their believes above long established rights. ) ,

FvD ( literally think speculating on the relative IQ of races and nationalities is worthwhile politics, Qanon type lunacy) ,

Ja21( FvD with the crazy dialed down only a smidge ) ,

PVV ( a intrinsically undemocratic party , basically a cult around Geert Wilders where competency takes a backseat. Their program is so unrealistic and unconstitutional they’ve promised to put what they’ve campaigned on for years “on ice” , f.i. banning the Quran) ,

VVD ( would not have considered them before under Rutte because of their economic stances and corruption problems but their right wing has really taken over recently to where they’ve basically handed PVV the election ) ,

BBB ( basically just a lobby group that runs a otherwise very dysfunctional party) ,

ChristenUnie ( I like the people that are active in my municipality but nationally they are turning into SGP light and abandoning their more progressive side) ,

NSC ( a party that files motions to not properly discuss or vote on legislation concerning a minorities rights because they think they shouldn’t get it “too easy” , ran by a coward with a messiah complex who has now enabled a government with PVV) ,

DENK ( already questionable party that has recently started queerbashing )

  18. I’m usually a Green Party voter but I voted for Neos (the liberals) in the EP elections. I would never ever even consider voting for FPÖ (the fascists).

  19. The last elections I voted in were the EU elections. I’m a green / left flip-flopper and voted for a candidate from the Left Alliance. She got a record number of votes and pulled two others to the parliament with her. I’m not crazy about the group they belong to in the parliament but she’s strong and maybe is able to change some things.

There are plenty of parties I wouldn’t vote for but one that I really wouldn’t vote for is the Crystal Party. I think their origin is in people who sell supplements and alternative medicines who wish that there were fewer restrictions on their business and maybe more government support. They don’t believe in Covid and are obviously anti-vax. They believe in a cosmic higher power and its role in politics but apparently they do have some sound environmental ideas (like restricting foreign mining companies). I still wouldn’t vote for them as their premise is too pseudoscientific for me.

  20. The last party i voted for was the Socialist left party.

I would never vote for the Progress Party and Christian Democratic Party

  21. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 – most recently voted SNP (left leaning, pro Scottish independence, pro EU). Would never vote Tory/Conservative (the ones that were in power since 2010, made the rich richer, the poor poorer, took us out of the EU and have screwed up the NHS…) or anything further right.

  22. I voted for a joke party, the Two-Tailed Dog Party.

I’d never vote for Fidesz, Mi Hazánk (flat earther nazi branch off of the exnazi party Jobbik), DK (Fidesz in blue colors), MSZP (the democratic branch off of the ruling party from the 40 years of communism who showed that without dictatorial methods they can still fuck up the country), Munkáspárt (the communist branch off of the ruling party from the 40 years of communism), Lehet Más a Politika (“Politics Can Be Different”, a party that showed that no, they can’t do politics different than the shitty parties they formed against), Jobbik (exnazi party),  Nép Pártján (branch off of the exnazi party), Második Reformkor (you won’t believe but it’s a branch off of the exnazi party), the several dozens of parties who only show up on the elections to steal “free” campaign money and then they disappear until the next election (fake parties), Normal Life Party (a particularly annoying fake party with flat earthers), Le Az Adók 75%-ával Párt (two-member far-libertarian party of two autist twins – they are funny in a bad way). The list is probably not comprehensive.

  23. I voted Sinn Fein, I really think change is needed, I would NEVER vote Fine Gael they have destroyed the Country.

  24. I voted for all of them, every party that was running.

Ireland uses a single transferrable vote system, so instead of picking one party you rank as many as you like in the order you’d prefer them to be included in whatever you’re voting for.

  25. Member of Volt, so I voted Volt. I would never ever vote for a party on the right side of the political spectrum, least of all the extreme right parties PVV and FVD.

  26. Sweden: I voted for Sverigedemokraterna (right wing). I would never consider myself voting for the left because they introduce too many socialist ideas on taxes (higher taxes for everyone), immigration(open borders), etc.

Now, in some questions for example related to healthcare SD is more left than the left wing parties. I believe capitalism and socialism have both good and bad things, the thing is to find a good mixutre between the two and i believe SD has found it.

Swedish democrats are also the only party in parliament with the intention to reduce EUs influence on Sweden, right now up to 40-50% of all new regulations applied in Sweden come from the EU. Personally im against the EU, but in order to vote for that you either have to go to the extreme right wing (AFS (sister party to AFD in germany)), or extreme left wing (SKP (Comunist party))

  27. I voted SNP in the last GE. Despite the fact that they lost in Scotland, I’m very glad Labour managed to destroy the Tories seemingly for good. Not the W I was expecting but I consider it a W nonetheless.

Reform UK? You really thought you had a chance in Scotland, Nigel “Up The Ra” Farage? Have not met a single person crazy enough to vote for you.

  28. I voted for Vihreät (the Greens). I would never ever never NEVER vote for PS (right-wing populist racist pigs).

Sadly the latter are now in the government and everything is going to shit.

  29. I voted Labour last. I might vote even more left next time. What I’m NOT gonna vote for, is the party who dropped a leaflet in my mail box last week: the Nordic Resistance, aka national socialists with a pretty creepy mix of uniforms and flags with symbols

  30. I voted for spolu – a coalition of 3 parties that ended up in the government together with the pirates and mayors.

The reason I voted for them is because I wanted to support of the 3 parties that made it up. I don’t think I’ll vote for them again as I am strongly opposed to the other too, which have gone into bed with essentially our religious bastards called alliance for family

That said the parties I would never vote for

SPD – our version of the German AFD
Trikolora – our second version of the German AFD, but less successfull
Svobodni – our version of libertarians in bed with the AFD like parties
Motorists – a populist party trying to woo based on the same talking points as the prior mentioned just with a different electorate (typically younger dudes)
    Communists

I’d also be hesitant to vote for ANO which is an oligarch led populist party that has generally been disastrous for our public finances

  31. It’s been a long time since I voted last and I don’t remember which one I voted for, but I will never vote for religion based parties because religion is a lie, socialist type parties because that will never be something that works, I will not vote for extreme parties, like PVV, FVD, or any party that’s specifically for a limited group of society, basically etc,.. 🙂

Almost every party in NL has something I’m for or against, after roughly 35 years of being eligable to vote I’ve lost confidence in any party, in the yesteryear it was possible that one party had the reigns, but nowadays it’s always a bit of give and take, so whatever they promis before the election always needs to be watered down to get enough members of parliament to agree.

  32. I vote for Momentum since it was established. (2018)

They made the Hungarian government (Fidesz) withdraw their olympics bid for the 2024 summer games with a public referendum. (They had to gather 200.000 signatures, which happened pretty quickly, so orbán withdrew before the actual referendum could take place)

The reason behind it was that the money could be used elsewhere, like in healthcare, education, or infrastructure.

Then they helped the EU to take away funds from Hungary, which wasn’t going to Hungarians anyway, but was used to build out orbán’s dictatorship.

It’s a 5-10% party in the country. Maybe it will disappear in the next elections, since last time they only gathered around 3.5% of the votes.

    I would never vote for
    – Fidesz (FIatal DEmokraták SZövetsége- alliance of young democrats) – orbán
    – Mi hazánk (our home) – nationalist party
    – Mszp (Magyar SZocialista Párt – hungarian socialist party) – older version of fidesz style mafia government
    – Dk (Demokratikus Koalíció – democratic coalition) – same leadership as mszp, but when sht hit the fan, they split in hopes to keep voters)
    – LMP (Lehet Más a Politika – politics can be different) -fake green party, satellite of fidesz

And with this, I summed up hungarian politics.

We also have the Two Tailed Dog Party, which is on par with Momentum for me. Their campaign is about free beer and forever life, but they actually spent their whole budget on repairing broken infrastructure, like bus stops, benches, or the famous 4 color painting around potholes to force the government to fix it (Orbán hates colorful things kekw)

  33. I voted for Labour in 2015, 2017 and 2019, and then voted for the Green party in 2024. I don’t like Keir Starmer, Labour was going to win my constituency anyway, and I wanted to increase support for the Green Party in order to increase pressure on the Labour Party to enact bold and urgent policy on climate change.

I would have voted for the Lib Dems in 2010 (lol) if it wasn’t a couple of months before my 18th birthday.

I did actually vote for Boris in the 2012 London mayoral election (because I didn’t like the incumbent and my political opinions hadn’t diverged much from my parents at the time) and seriously thought about voting for the Tories in the 2016 mayoral election until I found out what a hideous person Zac Goldsmith was. But I just don’t see myself voting for the Conservative Party on a national or even local level any time soon.

I would obviously never vote for Reform, a far-right party or a tankie party like George Galloway’s outfit.

  34. I couldn’t vote in 2024, just a few months out from being able to have voted :/

However, in 2029, i wont vote for:
    Reform UK
    Worker’s Party
Green Party (They seem very Hypocritical)
Conservative (They got us in this mess)
    Far-right parties

  35. Volt

    Would never vote for:
    FvD, PVV and SGP.
There are many other party’s that are unlikely candidates for my vote but these three are on top of the list.

  36. Never Vänstepartiet (Extreme left. Former Communists), Sverige Demokraterna (Rightwing. Former Nazi sympathisers), or Kristdemocraterna (Conservatives. Historical religion based ideology).

All the other parties get my consideration.

  37. Never right to far extreme right. Very probably never conservatives. And of course never German liberals.
And very of course never anti democrats.

  38. Lib Dem

I would never vote for the Tories (Conservatives) – 14 years of ideologically-led austerity, gutting of social services, populism, Brexit…

  39. For Portugal:

I´m more a left-wing person and voted mainly left-wing and center-left (sometimes on local elections center-right as I considered my mayor good)

I don´t consider voting for Liberal Iniciative (they are very childish and weird) – They spend more time defending Musk on twitter and think everything will get fixed lowering taxes for the rich– They check all the boxes for a libertarian 16 old dude on twitter

I also don´t consider voting for Far-Right CHEGA – Too radical and very liberal on economics, also very populist and without good politicians besides their leader

I´m not inclined to vote Left-Bloc this time because they are now more focused on cultural wars unlike the past where their focus was on healthcare and housing.

It´s getting hard to find a party were I fit well

  40. I voted for REPER (center left). USR (center right) are also a good option and I might vote for them for the presidential elections as they have a better chance of winning than REPER, though probably still won’t win, they’re both newer parties and Romanians tend to be very traditionalist and have low interest in politics due to a long and rich history of corruption.

I would never vote for PSD, practically the Romanian mafia except they’re also the government, they claim to be center left on paper, but in practice they’re more closely aligned with the far right. I would also never vote with the actual far right – AUR, SOS.

I think most of us here are of the same mentality – center left or center right – a few people are far left, but I don’t think the far right acolytes hang out in Europe-oriented groups.

  41. SNP, although semi-reluctantly this time and considered spoiling my ballot.

The nevers: The majority of the unionist parties to be honest (although if Labour had Monica Lennon in the running I could be almost tempted there), Alba Party, Scottish Green Party

  42. I’ll be able to vote in a few months but the next elections are in a few years so it’ll be a while before I get the chance. With that said, I’d never vote any party against lgbt rights or welfare.

I’m still trying to decide which party to vote, the mainstream “left” doesn’t seem all that good and they’re also really bad at creating coalitions.

  43. Due to cocking up the registration (am a student, study in Scotland, registered to vote in London where I live the rest of the time, forgot to cancel my postal vote so couldn’t vote in person and my postal vote was 500 miles away), I couldn’t vote. But I was torn between Labour and the Lib Dems. Ended up not having to make that call though.

  44. I’ve voted for the pro European liberal, modern party Progresivne Slovensko. I would never vote for facist parties like: Republika, LSNS, KDH (Christian party), and other parties who lean towards Russia and are basically just thieves and criminals – Smer, Hlas and SNS. There are a couple mid-oriented democratic parties that I could consider in the next vote, but it will depend on their program – SAS, Demokrati

  45. EU Elections. Voted KPÖ (communist party) as they were the only ones that actually had some political ideas on their agenda. Aside from the FPÖ, which coincidentally is the Party I could never vote for, as they are openly xenophobic, homophobic, corrupt and mostly opportunists.

  46. Lithuania, voted for Laisvės Partija (Freedom Party). Sad about them being unable to push ANY of the issues they campaigned on, despite forming the government. Got completely outplayed, and were clearly inexperienced.

All things considered, will probably have to vote for them again.

  47. UK, SDP

A sort of conservative labour party, in a fashion. Hard limits on immigration, energy and transport nationalisation, funding and encouraging industry and trades, strong benefits for those deserving of them, etc etc.

  48. ADU (Alianța Dreapta Unită) as it’s the least corrupt one.

I would never consider voting for the following extremely corrupt ones:

    PSD, PNL (communists)

    AUR, SOS (Russia’s parties)

    UDMR (Hugary’s party)

  49. The christian conservatives.

Surprisingly enough, I’m somewhat progressive and not religious at all. Fun how that happens.

  50. I voted for Volt in the EU elections because they actually have a vision for Europe. I would never vote for CDU or FDP because of their fucking car bullshit
