So it's clear that Russian intelligence agents conduct highly illegal operations in Europe:

murder and attempted murder of defected agents in the UK

murder of an Ex-Russian military pilot in Spain

murder of a Chechen(?) critic in Berlin (Tiergartenmord)
etc.
Besides that they obviously operate online to influence public opinion in Europe and the US. Support of Trump, support of far-right and far-left parties in Europe, general disinformation, etc, etc.
Question: How do we react to this aggression? Can we react, i.e. do we have cyber capabilities to retaliate? Do we react?
We obviously don't react to murders with other murders, but what do we do to react to cyber or sabotage attacks?
Does anyone have any knowledge or even examples of how we have retaliated in the past? (I mean recently, not back during the Cold War)
