  1. I was out for a morning swim in the local open-air pool today. The morning is a bit chilly, but the water was surprisingly nice and warm – just sad I had to cut it short due to an old injury acting up today. Oh well, can always take a quick plunge tomorrow too

    What are you up to on this hopefully lovely day? My next point on the agenda is grabbing a cup of tea

  3. Kuala Kangsar was a truly beautiful small city…quiet old historical centre, wide river, great morning market, and the ‘Royal Mosque ‘ there (Sultan of Perak) is very nice indeed.

    I got talking to a local guy on the market who was selling fish.He ended up inviting us to go fishing with him,a cool experience to see how they use particular types of nets in the river, what kinds of fish are in there etc.Very small scale and ‘local’ style fishing,he catches what he catches and sells it in a plastic sheet in the market.

    Really friendly people,as always in Malaysia… and especially so in places with very few foreign visitors.

  4. I am in a bit of a mood today. Maybe it’s because it’s the first day at work (not really, I mean I did some stuff in between, and I like my work), maybe because of the sudden change of weather (although it’s not that cold), maybe because family visits aren’t really holidays (at least for the brain) or maybe because I got the first “are Turkish people in Turkey also like those in the stadium” comment (of course, everyone knows that the football crowds are an accurate representation of the entire population 🙄). I guess it’ll take a while to return to the routine.

      Question for today! Is there anything you’re missing? I am missing the long thin attachment of the vacuum cleaner and I really need it 😢 I looked everywhere and can’t find it.

I was listening to a podcast today where the hosts and guests were looking at various betting sites and apparently there’s one that genuinely has a bet of “who will be revealed to be an extraterrestrial” with a list of names that included Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Tom Cruise. If it wasn’t a stupid throwaway bet, who would you put money on?
