My (23F) new boyfriend (25M) just made a joke tonight that made me a little upset and now he’s not responding and being weird. We’ve only been officially dating for about two weeks, but have been seeing each other since February. We were sending music back and forth, and I sent him an artist that sounded like another artist we both like. He made a joke about the artist, saying he was a big fan of theirs when they posted their boobs on Instagram. I said that joke made me feel not great and a little insecure. We’ve talked about attractive celebrities before, but this felt like pushing it a little to me. (He also asked me the night before to tell him when things upset me so I did). He apologized and said he thought it was okay because we had talked about celebrities being attractive before, and I said this one caught me off guard since we were just sharing music. He said okay, that he’d keep that in mind. I thanked him for hearing me out. He knows I’ve been anxious today (for a multitude of reasons), but now he’s not replying and only sent an emoji as a response. I feel like being honest about my emotions upset him, and now I’m even more anxious. Am I overreacting by being uncomfortable by his joke?
