I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about: people using outdated photos on dating app profiles.
I get it, we all want to make the best first impression, but there’s a fine line between presenting your best self and straight-up false advertising.
I used to think that people picked old photos to deceive me or anyone else that happened to stumble upon their profile. I now believe that a significant chunk of these folks genuinely think they still resemble their younger, more photogenic selves. It’s not a malicious attempt to deceive potential matches; it’s a case of self-delusion at its finest.
The issues it that…I don’t see this getting any better. What do you think? Any bad experiences with people looking way older than their pictures?
