For starters, I’m a 24 yr old guy who has a pretty good set up for American standards. I’m lucky enough to not really have to worry about work, school, or medical stuff the way it seems the average American does. I’ve had my current job for over a year and all I’m hearing is that I’m very lucky because there’s people who have been applying to jobs for months with no luck! Keep hearing about how there’s a lot of jobs posted but they’re not actual available positions and that everywhere is understaffed but no one is hiring. It’s all record profits but workers aren’t seeing any benefits.

Now my question is if Europe is seeing something like this as well or if this is mostly an American problem. I’ve seen this be reality here and it is terrifying. If I randomly lost my job I would be panicking like no other. The thing is I’d like to know what I’m heading into since I will soon be moving to Sweden to live with my husband. I don’t speak Swedish so that already limits my options but I know workers in my industry are in demand. I know that there supposedly is much more workers rights and laws but is it hard to find work in general right now? I know Spain has unemployment issues and I have heard about some housing issues as well for certain European countries. I just want to know as much as possible to better secure the future of my new family.
